Our Trustees &
Volunteers
Since its inception in 1989 GayGlos has been a volunteer conceived and volunteer led and run organisation. A Board of trustees oversees the running of the charity; some are actively involved in the delivering of our services. The Board meets on a quarterly basis to review activity and forward direction, as well as to manage the financial running and access future funding. We also have a team of volunteers that help us in the running of our services.

Our Trustees identify across the LGBTQ+ community and have been involved in organisations and campaigns relevant to LGBTQ+ people for the last 30 years.
We have worked in the Civil Service, Local Government, Higher Education and the
Criminal Justice system, for private companies and been self-employed.
We have been involved with developing equality and diversity policies and support
systems in our workplaces. We have also campaigned on a national stage for LGBTQ+ equality and increased funding for Further Education.
Between us we have been Trustees of 5 other charities and worked with voluntary
and statutory bodies covering a wide range of issues and services (including health,
homelessness, young carers, environmental issues).
Our hands-on experience of volunteering (other than with GayGlos and its pre-
cursor, Gloucestershire Friend) also includes 25 years with the Scout Association.
